Angela Wrigley Trio
In 2017, Angela Wrigley, Dave Lake and Derek Stoll began playing all over the Calgary jazz scene. Dave and Derek both lent their own creative influences, revelling in their differences and finding shared interests, to Angela’s compositions and arrangements.
These influences have accelerated the trio towards their first album, You Don’t Know What Love Is, released in June 2021, and created a unique, sultry, soulful style. Drawing from jazz standards, rock hits and pop classics, they have created a body of work that intricately describes the story of love and loss, hope and longing, and what it means to deeply and truly be “in love”.
